October 29 2026 MANHATTAN, NEW YORK - East Village neighbors spoke on 1st Avenue and East 11th Street on Thursday afternoon, saying their block has been taken over by parked delivery e-bikes.
Speakers said the street holds about 40 parked cars but roughly 400 e-bikes, and one resident said rats crawl in and out of the delivery bags. "Why are 400 e-bikes on this one block?" an organizer asked the crowd. Longtime resident Michael Anton said the bikes keep multiplying every time he steps outside.
