Multiple Disneyland employees have been hospitalized after a hazmat incident at the Southern California theme park.

Emergency personnel from Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to an “unknown odor in the backstage area near the Star Tours attraction,” around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Sgt. Mark Sutter told the Post.

Seven Disney employees were hospitalized after experiencing symptoms ranging from dizziness to shortness of breath, the Anaheim Fire Department confirmed.

Emergency personnel remained on the scene for several hours and determined the cause of the odor was from building contractor materials.

Disneyland officials toldNBCmaterials used by a contractor had produced a reaction backstage. As a precaution, nearby onstage areas were temporarily closed and cleared of guests.No guests were hospitalized because of the incident and park operations have resumed.

In order to prevent guests from getting close to the area of the odor, cast members formed a wall, blocking guest entry to The Star Trader shop. Guest were also evacuated off of nearby rides,according to WDW News Today.

Space Mountain was among the rides closed, as were the Space Mountain Bathrooms, in addition to the top of Star Wars Launch Bay, according to the report.
