Transgender man says: “I think Republicans should be shot in the street” moments prior to brutally assaulting a College Republican student SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah said it's offering "support and resources" to the victim of an attack on campus — a member of the College Republicans — and it's doing the same for the person who was cited for misdemeanor assault and property damage. "Two Class B misdemeanors don't get you expelled or even in trouble?" posted Riley Beesley, Utah College Republicans chair. "Insane." The assault happened this week near the College Republicans' tent outside the Marriott Library, where the group had put up a provocative whiteboard, stating, "There are only two genders," and then inviting students to vote "yes" or "no." The university said a person wiped the board by hand, which promoted the individual and a member of the College Republicans to "argue" about gender and free speech. A video recording showed the tail end of the conversation before a person charged the GOP student — who yelled for the person to get off him. An image from the College Republicans, in the aftermath, showed the student with a ripped shirt. The woman cited, Amber Grace, said the charges against her should be dismissed. "I believe I am a victim of transphobic aggression,” said Grace, “and because the University protects the College Republicans and enables them to bully students, I was cited with these bogus charges." Bryan Moore, a freshman GOP student, said he was near when the assault happened, and has read others social media calls for the citations to be tossed. "Quite ridiculous,” said Moore. ”I mean we saw this on video. There's video proof." The latest controversy follows a cake celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk brought to the campus by another student — and sports analyst Pat McAfee sayin
