Twitch streamer Lacy is one of the biggest names in live streaming right now, big enough that TMZ picked up this story within hours and the clip has passed 5.5 million views. He was on his first-ever stream from Japan when his camera briefly caught the restaurant's QR ordering code. His viewers scanned it from their phones and started firing orders straight to his table. Around 15 plates showed up before anyone could stop it. Lacy says the orders totaled 1.6 million yen, close to $12,000, and that he paid it. He was furious on stream, saying the restaurant had to cook over a million yen of food because his chat thought it would be funny. Not everyone believes that version. Several people who have lived in Japan say the staff brought him the order on a tablet precisely because it made no sense, nothing was cooked, and he may never have been charged at all. Japanese users were far less interested in the bill than in the camera. One wrote that people need to stop streaming inside restaurants, another said bluntly to stop coming to Japan and causing trouble, and a third called it an idiot move. Even American viewers piled on, saying this is exactly why Japan is losing patience with foreigners. A few defended him for paying up instead of walking out.
