The reaction to Candace Owens' extraordinary legal victory tells us something far more revealing than the ruling itself. It exposes the astonishing, irrational and seemingly pathological hatred that certain people harbor toward this woman.
On October 27, Delaware Superior Court Judge Sheldon Rennie dismissed every claim against Owens personally, finding that the court lacked personal jurisdiction. The corporate defendants remain in litigation, but even those claims face a potentially devastating statute-of-limitations challenge under French law.

Yet rather than acknowledge the significance of this decision, Owens' detractors immediately began minimizing it, qualifying it and desperately searching for reasons to deny her even a moment of vindication.
This is no longer simply about Emmanuel Macron, Brigitte Macron or disputed allegations. It is about Candace herself.
Consider the remarkable spectacle. A woman exercises her constitutional right to speak, challenges powerful international figures and defends herself against formidable legal opposition. When an American judge rules in her favor on a fundamental jurisdictional question, critics somehow transform that victory into another occasion for ridicule.
You need not agree with Candace Owens. You need not believe her allegations. You can reject every substantive assertion she has made while recognizing the importance of this ruling.
But that requires intellectual honesty.
And therein lies the problem.
For some, disagreement with Owens appears to have evolved into something resembling personal obsession. Nothing she accomplishes can be acknowledged. Nothing she says can be evaluated independently.
