Police have identified the driver wanted for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 16-year-old boy and left his younger sister in critical condition in South Los Angeles. On Oct. 22, the Los Angeles Police Department identified the suspect as Raygine Glentasia Evans. The deadly crash occurred on Sept. 22 as Hernan Martinez, 16, was walking home with his sister, Vicky Martinez, 13, and their mother around 9:30 p.m. in the Hyde Park neighborhood. As they crossed the intersection of 10th Avenue and 60th Street, the siblings were struck by a speeding driver in a Nissan sedan who raced past a stop sign. Hernan was killed on impact and was left on the windshield as the suspect kept driving until she crashed into several parked cars. The driver and a female passenger, Joannae Shavon Rosby, fled the scene, abandoning their vehicle, which had significant front-end damage and a shattered windshield. Security footage showed the two women sprinting down the street before they were eventually picked up by another vehicle. One witness said that after the pair took off, someone returned to the abandoned car and cleared it out. After authorities arrived at the scene, Hernan’s sister, Vicky, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She has since undergone surgery and has a long road to recovery. The boy’s family is hoping the driver is caught soon before she hurts someone else. The suspect’s car was identified as a blue 2025 Nissan Sentra sedan with California license plate 9UVV136. On Oct. 22, LAPD announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the woman’s arrest.
