NEW YORK — Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau, the Russian couple accused of climbing to the top of the Empire State Building, appear at Manhattan Criminal Court, 100 Centre St., on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026. They face charges of burglary, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief over the July 1 climb, when they hung a banner at the skyscraper's summit reading "when the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace." Beerkus then appeared to propose to Nikolau after they climbed down to a lower level. Both have pleaded not guilty and are reportedly in talks with prosecutors about a plea deal
