THIS is the incredible moment a fighter jet from Dubai chases down an Iranian drone before blowing it to smithereens in mid-air.

Stunned beachgoers watched the daring hunt as theUAEF-16E jet reportedly fired a heat-seeking air-to-air missile at the Shahed-136 attack drone.

The airspace over Al Mamzar Beach inDubaiplayed host to the remarkable wartime scrap as the UAE was forced to intercept over a hundred drones fired from the twisted Iranian regime.

Footage showed the drone soaring just above the water before the impressive F-16E flies into shot.

Believed to be armed with an AIM-9X Sidewinder missile, designed for close-range battles in the air, the fighter jet took aim at the drone.

Within seconds, a blast knocks the drone out of theskywith it being destroyed before it can even crash and burn on the ground.

The UAE defence ministry said it was forced to intercept 17 drones which were detected above its airspace on Sunday when the footage was filmed.
