President Donald Trump posted the longest message of his social media career on Sunday night, a rant of more than 1,300 words on Truth Social aimed at HBO host Bill Maher, two days after Maher defended his second White House dinner with him on air. At just over 1,300 words, it's Trump's longest ever.
"Let's talk about this COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER, Bill Maher," Trump began, calling Maher's show "Low Rated" on "equally Low Rated HBO." Later he called Maher a "major POTHEAD," a "coward" and a "dumb SLEAZEBAG," and closed: "You're not transformative, you're a Loser!"
The trigger was Friday's "Real Time," Maher's first show since the dinner, which CNN dates to Oct. 15. Maher opened by telling his audience, "You know what? Fuck you. I like these dinners," and said he goes in and tells Trump "face-to-face" what he writes "in articles he'll never read."
Maher posted the opening bit himself on X the next day, telling of the thrill of being announced at the White House with an aide saying, "Sir, your 7 o'clock low-ratings dummy is here."
