Jos Buttler set two massive world records during England's second match in the 2026 T20 World Cup clash against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (February 11) as he made a knock of 21 runs in 14 balls after walking out to open the batting for the Harry Brook-led side in a massive run-chase of 197 runs. Butter put up a 38-run stand with Phil Salt, while the latter put up a 36-run partnership with Jacob Bethell before being dismissed by Gudakesh Motie.
While Buttler failed to make a big knock and ensure he put his team in a comfortable position, he managed to rewrite the record books. The former England captain has had a modest start to the tournament so far, as he only made 26 runs in 17 balls in the tournament opener against Nepal.
Through the course of his short stay in the middle, Buttler managed to complete 700 runs against the West Indies in T20Is. He went past Rohit Sharma's tally and maintained a narrow lead over teammate Salt. The 35-year-old is the first player to reach the landmark against the two-time world champions.

Through the course of his innings, Buttler also managed to achieve a massive landmark as he completed 1000 runs in the T20 World Cup while being the team's designated wicketkeeper batter. Of the 1060 runs he has scored in the tournament, 1020 have come while being England's glovesman in the same match. No one else has even reached the 800-run mark
