October 7, 2026 MANHATTAN, NEW YORK — Pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched from City Hall to Union Square and disrupted a vigil by the group Israelis for Peace remembering victims of the October 7, 2023 attacks, which New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended. The Times of Israel reported that several hundred protesters shouted at attendees and called the mayor a "traitor," and amNY reported that the crowd followed Mamdani's motorcade and pushed against police barricades as he left. Police kept metal barricades between the two groups. The video shows protesters waving Palestinian flags and using a megaphone, a masked demonstrator in a keffiyeh standing beside NYPD officers, and vigil attendees holding candles near a loudspeaker.
