October 7, 2026 MANHATTAN, NEW YORK — The group Israelis for Peace held a vigil in Union Square to remember victims of the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel, and pro-Palestinian demonstrators who had marched from City Hall disrupted it. The Times of Israel reported that speakers read testimonies from families of October 7 victims and from Palestinians killed in Gaza as protest chants drowned them out, and that police moved the gathering further into the square behind metal barricades. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended the vigil, according to amNY and the Times of Israel. The video shows women speaking into a microphone while holding candles, a man draped in an Israeli flag, and attendees holding signs that read "NOT ONE MORE LIFE."
