Everybody claims to represent the forgotten American. Everybody claims to defend freedom. Yet the contradictions are impossible to ignore. Where is the fiscal discipline? Where is the serious discussion about the national debt? Where is the coherent strategy for confronting corporate influence and protecting constitutional liberties? Instead we get endless personality contests, manufactured outrage and politicians treating every disagreement like a declaration of war. The Republican Party once celebrated independent thinking. Today dissent within its ranks too often becomes an occasion for political excommunication. Loyalty to personalities threatens to replace loyalty to principles. Conservatives should be demanding accountability, intellectual honesty and specific policy commitments rather than another parade of slogans. Political parties are supposed to serve citizens, not demand unquestioning obedience from them.
