October 23, 2026 SOUTH OZONE PARK, QUEENS, NEW YORK — An NYPD officer shot a woman inside a home on 149th Street on Friday night after police responded to 911 calls reporting a home invasion and a stabbing, NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said. Rivera said the woman moved toward officers while holding a knife, that she was hospitalized in stable condition, and that three men at the residence also had stab wounds. He said police do not believe the woman was responsible for the home invasion or the initial stabbing. The video shows NYPD officers, detectives and a crime scene unit truck behind police tape outside a residence at night, with officers gathered along a chain-link fence and plainclothes officials conferring near the scene.
