LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock ISD officials released a statement about a viral video depicting a physical altercation at a Lubbock area high school circulating on social media. Officials from Lubbock ISD stated the following: Lubbock ISD is aware of social media posts circulating about a fight at one of our schools. We can confirm that there was a physical altercation between students earlier this week at one of our high schools. Campus staff intervened to de-escalate the incident. Our schools and the district follow established protocols and the law when handling these types of incidents. There are laws protecting our students’ and staff members’ privacy, and we will not share any additional information regarding this incident at this time. Any time an incident like this is shared on social media, we ask you to consider that there is additional information we cannot share or clarifications we cannot make due to privacy laws.
