Hungary's Zsofia Torocsik set a freediving world record of 108 meters to win the free immersion world title at the World Apnea 2026 Depth Championships in Limassol, Cyprus, on Monday, Oct. 5. The record, pending ratification, has changed hands five times this year. Ukraine's Nataliia Zharkova, who has traded the record with Torocsik this season, took silver with a 103-meter dive. Spain's Isabel Sanchez Aran won bronze with a 92-meter dive, setting a Spanish record and earning her first world championship medal. In free immersion, divers pull themselves down and back up along a line without fins. Torocsik's dive took four minutes.
