Police were called to a retail robbery in the Derry Road and Airport Road area at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, a Peel Regional Police spokesperson told INSAUGA Canada. The suspects smashed into the store using a vehicle and stole a large amount of jewelry, the spokesperson said. A video posted on social media shows a white vehicle backing into New Ahmed Jewellers at 2887 Derry Rd E. The vehicle smashes glass windows and bends metal security bars. Several people dressed in hoodies and masks then run into the shop. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, police said. No injuries were reported, police added. Police said they could not provide a suspect description at this time.
