When Jimmy suggests the operation may be a contrived distraction orchestrated by powerful forces, Patel enthusiastically embraces the possibility, imagining himself as an international spy while admitting that others are apparently doing the real work. Patel then boasts about enjoying Russia’s nightlife, alcohol, prostitutes, and museums, jokes about ignoring his fiancée, and treats the mysterious assignment as an excuse to party on the public’s dime.
