President Donald Trump can't seem to agree with his administration about the war in Iran.

In a phone interview with CBS on Monday, Trump saidthe war could be over soon. "I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force," he said.

The president added that the U.S. is"very far" ahead of his initial four to five-week timeframe. However, the Department of Defense, led by Pete Hegseth, shared a post on X declaring, "We have only just begun."

"So which is it?" asked John Hudson, a reporter for the Washington Post. The comment sparked discussion on X as users tried to decipher which message the administration was trying to convey.

"It's Trump, no one knows," wrote one person. "Only time will tell, actions are the only thing you can trust, not words."
