President Claudia Sheinbaum said last week that authorities are investigating a video purportedly showing cartel-linked fighters on Ukraine's front lines.
The investigation comes amid growing concern that Mexican narcoterrorists are incorporating lessons from the war into their operations, including one-way attack drones and unjammable fiber-optic drones.
The potential transfer of battlefield expertise from Ukraine to just south of the US border could strengthen cartel strike capabilities and explain why the Trump administration has surged US Army troops on the southern border.

X user THE ISLANDER's view of what's happening just south of the border is worth a read:
Sinaloa cartel sicarios just filmed themselves on the Ukrainian front, shouting greetings home while wearing full AFU kit. Mexican officials keep insisting "it's only Colombians."
Watch the video.
These aren't idealistic volunteers but actual cartel foot soldiers using someone else's war and Western funding as a free advanced infantry and drone academy. While Kyiv burns through money and bodies, Sinaloa gets real
