Europe’s ‘only’ way forward is as ‘independent power’: Macron

Making Europe an “independent power” is the “only” solution in the face of economic challenges coming from China and the United States, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday.

“We need a new scale and new speed in our approach in order to stop with the fragmentation, weakening and probably the humiliation of Europe,” Macron told industry bosses during a summit in the Belgian port city of Antwerp.
