Charlie Kirk is dead. And now behold the parade. The celebrities. The politicians. The influencers. The professional conservatives. The entire traveling carnival of self-promotion assembled under the Turning Point USA banner for AmericaFest 2026.
Look at the lineup. JD Vance. Donald Trump Jr. Erika Kirk. Jesse Watters. Steve Bannon. Tulsi Gabbard. The familiar faces. The familiar speeches. The familiar applause. Everybody gets a microphone. Everybody gets a moment. Everybody gets another opportunity to promote the brand.
But look who's missing.
Charlie Kirk.
The man whose name and legacy supposedly inspire this organization is now conspicuously absent from the featured-speaker parade. Of course he cannot appear. That's precisely the point. What place does his unfinished business occupy amid this spectacle?
Where are the hard questions about his assassination? The security failures? The unanswered questions raised by the Utah Valley University review? The responsibilities of those entrusted with protecting him?
Does anyone intend to discuss those matters publicly? Or will the program proceed as though every consequential question has been answered?
Attendance does not establish anyone's position on the investigation. But these speakers have enormous platforms. Their silence, if they choose silence, deserves scrutiny.
And spare me the suggestion that questioning the circumstances of Charlie's death somehow dishonors his memory.
What dishonors a man's memory is treating legitimate questions about his death as an inconvenience.
Charlie built the stage. Now others occupy it.
The applause continues.
The cameras roll.
And the questions remain.
