US President Donald Trump said theUS-Israeli war with Iranwas “very complete" and “pretty much" over, adding that the American military was “very far" ahead of his initial 4-5 week estimated time frame.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones. If you look, they have nothing left. There’s nothing left in a military sense," he toldCBS News.

The United States and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury that targeted key figures and infrastructure in Iran on February 28. Initial strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top figures. Over 1,300 people have been killed in Iran so far.

However, the war has also raised fears of a global energy crisis after Iran took control of the Strait of Hormuz, which supplies 20% of fuel shipments worldwide. Global crude oil prices have shot up more than 10% since the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28.

Replacement For Mojtaba Khamenei

When asked about the new Iranian Supreme Leader, Trump said, “I have no message for him. None, whatsoever." He said he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but did not elaborate.

Trump has declared Mojtaba “unacceptable", demanding a say in choosing Iran’s next leader. On Sunday, he said the new Iranian leader “won’t last long" without his approval.

Meanwhile, Israel has already threatened to kill whoever succeeds the senior Khamenei. The promotion of Mojtaba Khamenei, who has close connections to the Revolutionary Guard, and served in the unit as a teenager during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, is widely seen as a tool of open defiance to Israel and America, theWall Street Journalreported.
