When policies repeatedly produce chaos, when obvious consequences are ignored, when common sense is treated as dangerous, when children are exposed to ideas adults once would have considered unthinkable, when criminals are treated more sympathetically than victims, when truth becomes negotiable and language itself is manipulated to prevent people from describing what they see, eventually the word "mistake" begins to feel inadequate.
