Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich recently described a “thorough cleansing” operation in southern Lebanon, which many have interpreted as an admission of ethnic cleansing comparable to the destruction in Gaza. Jimmy argues that the minister’s statement that residents will have nowhere to return to demonstrates that Israel is deliberately making areas uninhabitable.
