Jimmy opens this segment by noting that he is a fan of the French, even if they demonstrate a cavalier attitude toward deodorant, shaving and personal grooming. He then shifts into a discussion of France’s strong tradition of public protest, with the most recent example coming from farmers dumping manure, straw, and other waste outside a tax office near Paris to protest rising agricultural fuel prices and inflation Jimmy frames the demonstration as an example of French workers aggressively challenging government policies and connects modern French protests to the French Revolution and jokes that the historical rebellion of the French helped inspire modern elites and governments to build stronger surveillance and security systems.
