VANCOUVER, Wash. — A wanted man is facing new charges after he was caught crawling through the ceiling of the Vancouver Mall last week. Mall employees called Vancouver Police on September 30 to report that the man identified as Gabriel Hideo, was crawling through the ceiling, breaking tiles and damaging lights and other fixtures. Police evacuated the second floor of the Macy’s store while they tried to get him down. Officials said they put a ladder through the ceiling and a mattress underneath in case he fell. “He then tried to climb back into the ceiling, so officers pulled the ladder away to keep him from going back up,” Vancouver Police said in a post with body camera footage of the arrest. After landing on the mattress, Hideo tries to get up and run, only to be apprehended by officers. Hideo was booked into the Clark County Jail on first-degree Malicious Mischief, first-degree Burglary, and an outstanding felony warrant.
