In its editorial, newspaper accused US President of spreading false narratives. “US President Donald Trump’s pronouncements on the ongoing military invasion of Iran have been marred by a pattern of demonstrably false claims, deflection of responsibility for atrocities, and a defiant rejection of diplomatic solutions," the paper stated.

The attack happened on February 28 when several girls gathered at the “Shajareh Tayyebeh" (The Good Tree) school in the city of Minab in southern Iran.

As per a report by Al Jazeera, the students were studying at the time missiles struck their school. The entire school collapsed on the children and teachers.

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani responded to the attack and criticised America’s “peace through strength" doctrine and challenged the US narrative on freedom in Iran. In a post on X, Larijani condemned the “mass martyrdom of innocent girls" at the hands of what he described as “American-Israeli criminals," saying the theory of “peace through strength" has been “stained with blood" by the tragedy."

“Mr. Trump! Is this the anthem you composed for freedom in Iran?" accusing US policy of hypocrisy and deception," he added.

Tensions escalated in West Asia after a joint US-Israel military strike on February 28 on Iranian territory resulted in the death of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior figures.
