TORONTO— Canada fell from 9th in the world (in 2023) to 18th (in 2024), according to this year’s Economic Freedom of the World report, published today by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank.

The 2026 report relies on 2024 data, which is the latest available year for which data can be compiled across 165 countries.
