A male elephant seal made an uncommon appearance on Conrado Beach in Rio de Janeiro's South Zone on Friday, drawing attention from beachgoers and authorities alike. Lifeguards marked the area with purple flags to alert swimmers to the marine animal's presence. Authorities cordoned off the beach section to prevent public access and allow them to monitor the elephant seal's activity. Officials instructed onlookers to keep their distance from the mammal and avoid direct contact, according to a statement from the Rio de Janeiro fire department. -- 🍀 Support NTD 👉 https://donate.ntd.com/ -- 📺 Watch NTD News 24/7 on cable, broadcast, and streaming: https://www.ntd.com/watch 🧶Exclusive Documentaries & Movies on NTD+: https://www.ntdplus.com/utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=SocialM -- 🔵Sign up for our newsletter to stay informed with NTD News. 👉https://www.ntd.com/newsletter.htm?utm_source=YouTube.
