Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark took an elbow to the face in Game 3 of their first-round playoff matchup against the Las Vegas Aces. On Thursday, Clark and the Fever put up a valiant effort in their win-or-go-home Game 3 matchup against the defending champions. However, they suffered a 94-83 defeat at Michelob ULTRA Arena, as A'ja Wilson delivered another MVP-caliber performance, finishing with a game-high 36 points and 10 rebounds. It was an intense game, and one play even resulted in Clark getting elbowed in the face and bleeding from her mouth. The play happened late in the fourth quarter, with just over three minutes remaining. Aces guard Jewell Loyd inadvertently elbowed Clark in the face as they battled for a rebound. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year immediately felt the impact and stayed down for quite some time. No foul was called on the play, much to Clark's frustration. She went straight to a referee to complain about the non-call, showing the blood from her mouth. Clark had to be checked in the locker room but returned shortly after.
