The body cam video has been released by Riverside County Sheriff's Office regarding a Deputy Involved Shooting that occurred on August 7, 2026 in Moreno Valley. On August 7, 2026, at 4:10 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 11000 block of Villa Hermosa regarding a subject experiencing a mental health episode. Upon arrival, deputies, with the assistance of a clinical therapist from the Community Behavioral Assessment Team, contacted the reporting party outside of the residence. While speaking with the reporting party, the subject exited the residence, pointed a firearm at deputies, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire, and deputies rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. No deputies were injured during this incident. The suspect’s identity will not be released at this time.
