Have you ever thought you were completely over something that happened decades ago, only to realize that some part of you was still carrying it? I've been doing a lot of inner work lately. To me, inner work is looking within yourself and being willing to explore the things that hurt you, the things that trigger you, and the experiences that helped shape the person you became. Sometimes we bury those experiences so deeply that we convince ourselves they're gone, but buried isn't the same thing as healed.
