JACKSONVILLE, Fla.— A multi-state manhunt came to a close on Wednesday after a man suspected of murder was arrested in Jacksonville, authorities said. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, their SWAT team tracked 43-year-old Jonathan Soto, a wanted murder suspect, to an apartment complex on Gate Parkway. Soto is a suspect in a Feb. 2023 murder of an Atlanta business owner for the Republic Lounge. He was on the Atlanta Police Department’s most wanted list. JSO reported that they, along with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the City of Atlanta Police Department, surrounded the apartment where Soto was hiding and, when he refused to come out, they used an energetic charge to open the door. The sheriff’s office reported that Soto surrendered on a fugitive warrant for muder and possession of a firearm. Video from JSO’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit captured Soto’s arrest.
