Trisha Krishnanhas been making headlines for her rumoured relationship withThalapathy Vijay. Their appearance at the wedding added fuel to Vijay’s estranged wifeSangeetha’s allegation of his extramarital affair. Following this, filmmaker-actor R Parthiban took a dig at the actress without mentioning her name. However, he usedKundavai, Trisha’s character’s name in thePonniyin Selvanfranchise. Breaking her silence, Trisha tweeted, hitting back at the crude words used for her.
Trisha clarified that the organisers of an award ceremony down South included her name and picture during a segment at the last minute, based on the ‘request of an individual conveyed through his assistant.’ The actress further added that a ‘microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder.’ She also slammed the actor for using crude words ‘without knowledge’. Trisha did not mention Parthiban’s name in her tweet.
At the recently held Galatta Awards,Parthibhanhad to answer a question about Trisha. When her photo and name flashed on the screen, the actor referred to her as Kundavai and mocked her by saying, “This Kundavai should be kept at home for a few days. That’s good. Don’t let her come out.”
Thalapathy, who is currently in the middle of a divorce case with his estranged wife Sangeetha, held a political event on March 7. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) supremo addressed his fans and party members at a Women's Day event. He spoke about the ongoing controversies and asked his supporters not to get hurt amid his personal issues. He promised them that the problems would be taken care of. The actor-politician also shared, “Let's concentrate only on people's issues. Those issues are not worth it at all, so don't hurt yourself."
Amid the divorce proceedings, Sangeetha reportedly filed a fresh petition, requesting the court to grant her permission to continue residing in her matrimonial home, Neelankarai, until the case is solved.
Sangeethafiled a divorce petition at the District Court in Chengalpattu against Vijay, a famous Tamil film actor and TVK leader, who is popularly called Thalapathy. The petition seeks dissolution of their marriage, citing emotional cruelty, neglect, and an alleged extramarital relationship.
The petition stated that it was in April 2021 that Sangeetha discovered Vijay’s extramarital affair with an actress. Despite assurances that it would end, the association allegedly continued. Attempts to resolve the matter amicably between September 2021 and February 2022 through legal counsel reportedly failed.
