Women keep asking what happened to chivalry. Why don’t men hold doors anymore? Why don’t men stop to help? Why aren’t men jumping in when a woman is struggling with something heavy? One woman says that when a man holds a door open for her, instead of saying “thank you,” she’s going to say “you’re welcome” because she assumes he only did it so he could check her out as she walked past. And then somehow we're surprised when men decide helping simply isn’t worth the aggravation anymore. You can’t spend years telling men their kindness has ulterior motives, their attention is unwanted, and women don’t need them, then complain when those same men finally shrug their shoulders and leave you to handle things yourself.
