Russia targetedUkrainewith a new cruise missile in a strike which claimed the lives of at least 10 people, officials said. Two children were killed when the Russian missile hit a five-story building in Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, on Saturday (March 7).
Authorities in the region said the residential block was struck by a newRussiancruise missile known as Izdeliye-30. The subsonic, air-launched weapon has a 930 mile range and is believed to be cheaper and easier to manufacture than similarly launched types of missile.

Ukraine's air defence systems downed 19 missiles and 453 drones, but the country took hits from nine missiles and 26 strike drones across 22 locations.
PresidentVolodymyr Zelenskycondemned the attack and called for an international response.
Among the dead was a primary school teacher and her son, who were killed in their home. Another child died along with her mother, according to the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov.
Ukrainian reports said the new subsonic, air-launched weapon is equipped with a new satellite navigation system more resistant to jamming.
Russia's Defence Ministry insisted the overnight attack targeted Ukrainian military factories, energy facilities and air bases.
Mr Zelensky wrote on social media: "There must be a response from partners to these savage strikes against life.
