Deputies responded to the Orange County Courthouse complex in downtown Orlando, Florida, around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, after reports of shots fired, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
WFTV reports that deputies found a woman who said someone known to her had fired at her near the parking garage adjacent to the courthouse. Investigators said she was not injured. The suspect fled before deputies arrived and had not been located as of WFTV’s 12:44 p.m. update.
Authorities placed the courthouse complex on lockdown as a precaution while deputies searched the area and worked to determine whether the suspect remained on the property. Officials described the information as preliminary, and the investigation is ongoing.
