Sanford police say gunfire erupted during a family / social gathering on Poplar Avenue in Sanford, Florida, on Saturday night, September 19, 2026. Officers responded around 9:54 p.m. near West 10th Street and found multiple people with gunshot wounds.
We’re covering the Sanford Police Department briefing, the overnight police response and the questions still surrounding this Seminole County shooting. Police spokesperson Nicole Brown said investigators had not determined whether one or multiple shooters were involved.
At the overnight update, no arrests had been announced, and authorities had not released the victims’ names or ages. The motive and circumstances leading up to the gunfire remained under investigation.
