A rescue story shared by a Dubai-based radio host has drawn attention online after he stepped in to help a frightened dog found roaming his neighbourhood near Al Furjan during the ongoing Middle East crisis. The incident, which he documented on social media, has reignited discussions about responsible pet ownership and the consequences of abandoning animals during uncertain times.

The account was shared by radio host Parikshit Balochi, who posted a video explaining how he came across the dog and why he decided to take the animal under his care for the time being.

According to Balochi, the dog was first spotted by community security staff, who tied it briefly to prevent it from running around the area. A nearby villa resident also sheltered the dog for a short period before Balochi decided to intervene.

When he encountered the animal, Balochi said the dog appeared scared and unwell. Worried about its condition, he took it to a veterinarian for a proper medical check-up.

During the examination, the vet found that the dog was suffering from a severe infection in one ear. The animal was also microchipped, but its ownership details could not immediately be traced in the records of Dubai Municipality, making it difficult to identify its owner at the time.

Later, additional details about the dog emerged. It was eventually learned that the animal does have an owner and is known to be an “escape artist.” Balochi explained that the dog reportedly has a habit of opening doors and has gone missing several times before.

For now, the dog remains in Balochi’s temporary care while the matter is being resolved.

He said he has agreed to look after the dog for the time being and may even consider adopting it permanently if the animal gets along well with his own pet dog.

While sharing the update, Balochi emphasised that the key message of the incident remains the same. “If you can’t care for your animal, ask for help, foster, rescue or rehome responsibly. Just don’t leave them behind,” he said in his post on Instagram.
