Vega is promoting a September 13 event in New York City marking 25 years since 9/11, featuring NSA whistleblowers Thomas Drake, Kirk Wiebe, and Bill Binney, along with Jimmy Dore, to discuss the surveillance state and its modern parallels in ICE and the Iran war.
The two argue that 9/11 skepticism has gone mainstream, and that the trillions spent on the war on terror should have been used to build domestic infrastructure and economic development instead. Vega concludes that peace without economic justice is unstable, and calls for political will to build a productive economy rather than endless war.
