◉ Follow LIONEL on X: https://x.com/LionelMedia So apparently the truly earth-shattering revelation in the Lindsay Clancy mistrial is not that three children are dead, not that twelve jurors wrestled with criminal responsibility, not that the panel deadlocked 11 to 1, but that the lone holdout was a Black man. Gayle King actually had to “sit with that.” Fascinating. Why? Was he supposed to receive a different jury instruction based on melanin? Was reasonable doubt suddenly racially assigned? The man reportedly watched Clancy’s interview, evaluated the evidence and concluded the case did not support first-degree murder. That is called deliberating. Yet the moment his race was revealed, it became a dramatic television revelation worthy of “Whoa.” Imagine the reaction if a conservative host expressed astonishment that a Black juror reached a particular verdict because he was Black. We would be treated to three days of panels, solemn music and lectures about unconscious bias. Apparently, though, some racial assumptions become “fascinating” when they arrive wearing the proper television credentials. Lionel discusses all that's Lindasy with @NataliMorris on @RedactedNews.
