An off-duty New York City Police Department officer jumped into action after spotting an unconscious driver in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn on Sunday, September 6. This footage, owned by Tony Ko of the New York State Fraternal Alliance Organization, shows the moment the driver runs a red light and the SUV abruptly stops in the middle of the road. The vehicle then rolls forward a few times before the out-of-uniform officer intervenes. According to local news outlet WABC-TV, the driver suffered a medical episode while operating the vehicle. Councilwoman Susan Zhuang praised the officer’s actions. “He actually saved more than just a driver’s life. He saved the pedestrians life.
