Caio Borralho got back into the win column atUFC 326, earning a hard-fought victory over Reinier de Ridder in the evening’s co-main event.

Borralho’s striking was the story of the opening round, as he came out unusually aggressive and continued to fight that way throughout the stanza. With 90 seconds left in the first, de Ridder managed to get Borralho to the mat, though the control time he racked up wasn’t enough to mitigate the damage he absorbed.

The second stanza was a much more favorable round for de Ridder, who secured some additional control time and pulled ahead in significant strikes.

With the fight potentially deadlocked at 1-1, Borralho came out swinging heavy leather before scoring his first takedown, putting de Ridder on his back and sliding into side control.

As we hit the three-minute mark of the round, de Ridder fought his way up and separated. Both fighters continued to slug it out, though neither was able to muster the energy necessary to knock out the other before the final bell.

Official Result: Caio Borralho def.Reinier de Riddervia unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
