A Florida woman will not face charges after fatally shooting a 62-year-old man during a Walmart parking lot dispute, prosecutors announced months after the July 3, 2026 incident. The woman, in her vehicle, backed into a contested parking space and was later confronted by the man after he returned from inside the store.
Surveillance and dashcam footage showed her retreating around parked cars with a firearm drawn as the man continued to advance despite repeated warnings. Witnesses corroborated her account that he threatened to damage her vehicle.
A toxicology report revealed the man had amphetamines, THC, and antidepressants in his system at the time of the shooting. Prosecutors determined she was immune from prosecution under Florida's stand your ground statute
