Emily Pike was a 14-year-old San Carlos Apache Tribe member whose tragic murder and disappearance sparked widespread calls for reform regarding missing Indigenous persons and group home oversight in Arizona.
Disappearance and Discovery
Disappearance: On January 27, 2025, Emily left a group home in Mesa, Arizona, on foot. She had a history of running away from the facility, where she had been placed by tribal social services.
Discovery: On February 14, 2025 (Valentine's Day), her dismembered remains were found by hikers in trash bags near a remote section of US Highway 60 outside Globe, Arizona, roughly 70 miles away from where she was last seen.
Almost $200,000 reward offered by FBI & investigators.
