New Delhi:IAF Vice Air Chief Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor on Wednesday said it's true thatIndia attacked terror infrastructure and several of their military installations during Operation Sindoorbut said that they don't know anything about Kirana Hills, adding it may have been caused by an insurgency there, or by what weapon, they don't know about that. India launched Operation Sindoor on the intervening night of May 6-7, targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocent civilians were shot dead in front of their families. Not just terror hideouts, when Pakistan tried to retaliate, Indian armed forces on the intervening night of May 9-10 carried out precision strikes at Pakistani military installations.

The question about whether India targeted Kirana Hills, a military installation site in Pakistan that reportedly houses its nuclear program, has surfaced a lot of times ever since India conducted Operation Sindoor.

Now, almost nine months after Operation Sindoor, when asked about the attacks on Pakistan's Kirana Hills during Operation Sindoor, Vice Air Chief Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor says, "We attacked terror infrastructure and several of their (Pakistan's) military installations. This is absolutely true. If you see any video, whether it's from open sources, or generated by them, or what they're trying to portray, we don't know. Whether we did something, or whether the explosion was caused by an insurgency there, or by what weapon, we don't know about all this. But these videos (of Kirana Hills) were presented by their people; they made them; we did nothing. We only struck terror and military installations."

Rafale Jets Were Hero of Operation Sindoor, Says IAF Vice Chief

In another mention, IAF Vice Chief Kapoor said thatRafale fighter jets were the "hero" during the Operation, and that the Indian Air Force aims to induct more Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA).

Addressing a gathering at the unveiling ceremony of Exercise Vayu Shakti 2026, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor said that every act of terror will be responded to. He added that the glimpses of Operation Sindoor will be displayed for the public during Exercise Vayu Shakti in Jaisalmer.

The Vice Chief of Air Staff said, "Rafale was definitely the hero during Operation Sindoor. Indian Air Force is looking forward to inducting more MRFA, which is going to be Rafale or any other, which are under deliberations, and a concrete decision has yet to be taken."

"The message from Operation Sindoor was clear that terrorism will not be tolerated. Every act of terror conducted on our soil will be responded to, and there will be a price to pay. You will get glimpses (of Operation Sindoor) of precise targeting (during Exercise Vayu Shakti 2026)... Our work is to hold a demonstration. It is up to those seeing this demonstration to take the message they want from it," he added.
