On Saturday, President Donald Trump arrived at Dover Air Force Base to participate in the dignified transfer of the six U.S. service members killed in the Iranian drone strike in Kuwait, set to take place at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

The President was joined by First Lady Melania, Vice President JD Vance, and family members of the fallen and officials. Saturday morning, the President attended a meeting of the Americas at Doral in Miami, but left the event early to travel to Dover.

The President shared on Truth Social, โ€œI will be going to Dover Air Force Base tomorrow, with the First Lady and Members of my Cabinet, to pay our Highest Respect to our Great Warriors, who are returning home for the last time. GOD BLESS THEM ALL! President DONALD J. TRUMP.โ€

The dignified transfer is a deeply somber and solemn process where flag-draped transfer cases are carried from the aircraft by service members to a waiting vehicle for transport to the mortuary affairs facility, honoring the fallen.

The heroes died on March 1, 2026, in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, during an unmanned aircraft system attack.

โ€œAll Soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, Des Moines, Iowa. The incident is under investigation,โ€ the Pentagon said at the time.
