Washington DC:As the conflict in the Middle East entered day 8, US President Donald Trump on Saturday (March 7) claimed Iran has surrendered and apologised to its neighbours in the region. The US president further stated that Tehran promised not to attack the Gulf countries only after the “relentless” US and Israeli attack.

“Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore. This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack. They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries.”

Trump said that his allies in the Middle East, which, include the United Arab Emitates (UAE), Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have thanked him. He even called Iran the “loser of the Middle East”.

“They have said, “Thank you President Trump.” I have said, “You’re welcome!” Iran is no longer the “Bully of the Middle East,” they are, instead, “THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST,” and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse!” the US President added.

Trump’s remarks came hours after Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country will no longer carry out attacks on neighbouring nations, signalling a possible de-escalation in regional tensions. Pezeshkian said that neighbouring countries will no longer be targeted unless an attack on Iran is launched from their territory.

“The temporary leadership council announced yesterday that there will be no more attacks on neighbouring countries and no missile launches unless attacks originate from those countries against Iran,” Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian President said the country’s interim leadership council had approved the decision a day earlier, claimed local media reports. Pezeshkian also apologised to neighbouring countries for the strikes carried out in recent days.

“I apologise to the neighbouring countries. We have no intention of invading other countries,” he stated.

Tensions escalated in the Middle East following airstrikes by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28, killing its several top leaders, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. IN retaliation, Tehran launched strikes against Israel and US military bases in the Gulf countries, further escalating the conflict.
