Iran has insisted it will not give up in its war with the US despiteDonald Trump's insistence that anunconditional surrenderis the only way American and Israeli strikes will end.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement on the nation's state TV IRNA channel in which he apologised to other Middle Eastern countries for strikes that had hit them, but insisted there would be no unconditional surrender.
Mr Pezeshkian said in a pre-recorded speech broadcast on Saturday: "The enemies must take their wish for the surrender of the Iranian people to their graves."

He added: "I should apologise to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran, on my own behalf. From now on, they should not attack neighbouring countries or fire missiles at them, unless we are attacked by those countries. I think we should solve this through diplomacy."

Washington also warned of a forthcoming bombing campaign which officials said would be the most intense of a conflict which has rocked the Middle East.
